Hum TV has successfully managed to play with our emotions once again. After the heartthrobs Fawad Khan from Humsafar, Feroze Khan from Gul-e-Raana, we have a new TV sensation, Dr Asfandyar, aka Dr Asfi, from our very own favourite show, Yakeen ka Safar.

Yakeen ka Safar (YKS) is a romantic, family drama that also delicately deals with social issues like domestic abuse and rape. It is based on Farhat Ishtiaq’s hit novel Wo Yakeen Ka Naya Safar and airs on Hum TV every Wednesday. Directed by Shahzad Kashmiri and shot at the beautiful Neelam Valley, the show is a real treat to the eyes.

A bit about Ahad Raza Mir

Ahad Raza Mir, playing Dr Asfi, the ‘hero’ of the show is on spotlight these days, that too for all the right reasons. It is amazing to see the change in Dr Asfi’s character over the years shown in the drama. His intense acting combined with his beautiful personality is a rare combination to find. Not to discredit his hard work, but he has undoubtedly inherited a lot from his father and grandfather too.

He rose to fame with his superb acting, excellent dialogue delivery and right *ahem* looks. The last few episodes have made people drooling all over the place for him, and nobody is hiding it.

Dr Asfi has taken the internet by storm. Twitter users’ reactions to this character are hilarious. Let’s find out for ourselves:

So, you see, that’s where the trouble began. That smile. That damned smile.

My precious. This user is so mad she went ALL CAPS in expressing her love for Dr Asfi.
Wait. Did you notice her name?

This user has their display picture all set. And hey, trust me, professors in real medical universities usually look nowhere like him. Please don’t get your hopes high.

As we said earlier, don’t get your hopes up!

Watch out Ahad Raza Mir; this user has declared you MOST WANTED. She has her username changed to Dr Asfi’s song, and her display picture changed too. Looks like trouble.

That indeed is the height of craziness!

 Final thoughts

Yakeen ka Safar is a brilliantly directed drama with moving dialogues and a great storyline. It has kept the viewers hooked to screens. It is exciting to see the development in the show in these few weeks.

We wish Ahad Raza Mir good luck for his future endeavours. We would love to see our Dr Asfi more in upcoming TV dramas.
